About this talk

Mindfulness and Meditation classes offer a space of pause, tranquillity, and safe creative exploration; We learn how to be present in the moment, understand the interplay of mind and body, and allow access to inner resources for coping with the challenges of contemporary life.

You will be guided through simple exercises that can be also used throughout the working day and at home. These include: Breathing techniques for stress reduction, body scanning, movement meditation and gentle stretching, mindfulness of thinking and feeling, mindfulness of sounds & loving-kindness practice.

Most of these exercises are done seated on a chair or a cushion on the floor. We may also be doing some stretching/movement to release physical tension. Please wear comfortable clothes. No previous experience is needed.

Deep relaxation allows you to drop deep, quickly! We often think that going home and sitting in front of the TV with a glass of wine is relaxing but our nervous system is actually still over-stimulated. Incredibly, it’s recognised that 30 minutes of yogic deep relaxation practice has the equivalent benefits of 3 to 4 hours of sleep! And the beauty of deep relaxation is it’s something you can learn and practice often.
